1 Drawing Graphite Pencil Observation Skills: Design Skill: Showing Spacial depth Outdoor observation; Use 'Viewfinder'- Include objects from close to distant; use near forms to frame scene Include outlines to do basic breakup. Add details and tone. Show light and shadow shades 
  
2 Drawing Graphite Pencil Observation Skills: Using Detail Outdoor observation; Use 'Viewfinder'- Find a single interesting natural object. Draw it in detail Be careful about the size and position of the object. Try to make shadows dark enough in tone. 
  
3 Drawing Graphite Pencil Observation Skills: Using Pattern or Rhythm Outdoor observation; Use 'Viewfinder'- Locate objects which create a Vertical Pattern or Horizontal pattern Simplify to either white or black areas. This assignment will help you to learn about repetition of movements (line directions). This will result in a composition having a strong, rhythmic harmony.
  
4 Drawing Color Pencils, but limit yourself to only 4 colors. You will also practice Observation Skills & consider Spacing and Placement. Divide your page into Quarters, Place one interesting natural form in each frame; Each frame will use two of the 4 colors; Creative Hint: one or more parts of the object passes outside of frame. 
  
5 Drawing Soft or 'B' Graphite Pencil, Observation Skills, Copy a photo of a complete human figure - Select an interesting pose. Instead of first drawing an outline and filling in tone, use tone to build the figure as you fill all areas.- - Do not draw outlines first. Make your total drawing no smaller than 9x12 page size. 
  
6 Drawing Use Color Pencils Observation Skills: Using multiple colors to shade and blend Find a picture with good color: Reproduce the picture in a size that will work for you, Use many colors to produce detail and tone with colored pencils. (color surprise and color admixtures)
  
7 Drawing Toned Ground Drawing Observation Skills from Still Life Setup Set several objects in an interesting group. Select objects of different sizes and shapes and textures. Use a medium tone paper. Brown, gray or blue. Then use a dark color and a light color for shadows and highlights 
  
8 Drawing Toned Ground Drawing Observation Skills, Drawing from your own picture. Use medium toned paper, Break down the face and features into zones of shade. !! I will supply each of you with a digitized image that I will prepare of you after our 'photo shoot'!! 
  
9 Drawing Graphite Pencil Fantasy Invention Invent a strange or unusual place or environment. Place forms within this environment You may select elements from photos and juxtapose (rearrange) on a paste-up model 
  
10 Drawing with Charcoa,l Abstract 3D Forms, Explore interesting structures that are 3D inventions, these need not represent a real thing Work with Blended Charcoal Techniques. Try to produce shades from Light to Dark. Think of a light source (direction of light)
  
11 Drawing Charcoal Observation Skills, Figure Drawing each other Lightly Sketch the Pose in pencil and finish it with Charcoal Shading and Blending to build the sense of light and mass 
  
12 Drawing Details Pen and Ink, Or gel pens on dark toned paper. Observation Skills Any Bird, Animal, or Insect Develop a technique of delicacy and detail of all parts, You may use stylization, small strokes or shapes for detail. 
  
13 Drawing Drawing With Fine Brush, Expressive Colored Line Use real subjects rather than Abstractions. Places, Persons or Things Draw Outline and Detail with a Fine Brush. Feature Line as bright colored strokes. Expressive color is not necessarily natural or realistic but is highly expressive.

14 Drawing Mixed Technique Any Imaginary Subject Fantasy Combine Several methods but keep it simple and workable.
