Outdoor drawing assignment 1
On each drawing page provided make 2 picture frames about 5x7 each – Use your mini ruler -- (these will indicate the boundaries of your outdoor drawing Compositions)
There are 4 small drawing assigned:
Drawings 1 & 2
Focus on “Primary break up”
- - A mapped approach - - find /select interesting arrangements of areas or spaces within your viewfinder (picture field).
**Try to have at least 12 zones or areas in each selection **
Add some detail or descriptive (visual) content within larger areas.

 

 

Drawings 3 & 4
Select subjects that feature repetition and rhythm.
**Rhythm is a repetition of line movements or shapes **
These rhythms can be vertical, horizontal or radial **
Rhythms can be made out of similar not identical forms - -
such as clouds which are not exactly alike or trees, or rocks or flower forms etc.
Radial rhythms are centered around a point or "radiate" out from a point

** Use the viewfinders to aid in your selection ** Use the whole picture area for composition We will not be emphasizing detail for this project or tone. Later assignments will focus on this quality.
