Sadly, Mr. Thompson passed away in winter, 2008
This 2 Hour Video DVD is a timely remembrance of his life and contributions.

At the time of the video interview, Mr. Thompson had just turned 85 years. Here he displayed his well known humor and panache in this 2 hour dialogue with Mary Pinkney-Parnell and Charles Pinkney.

Daryl who traveled around the world in WW2 returned to his home town in Fairmount, North Dakota to a career with the Sioux Line Rail Road. Over the years Mr. Thompson was well connected in politics on the state level but spent his life in rural North Dakota where he sought to promote the lifestyle and values that are best experienced in the environment of a small town.

The subjects discussed in this March 2006 interview range from recollections of early Fairmount, general historic insights as well as individuals who stand out in his memory.

This DVD is available for any interested in Fairmount, ND,  regional / State History or the life values held by the "Greatest Generation."
