WHAT MUST I DO TO BE SAVED ?

Acts 16: The Phillipian Jailor: Asks, "What Must I do to be saved?"“29 Then he called for a light, ran in, and fell down trembling before Paul and Silas. 30 And he brought them out and said, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?” 31 So they said, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household.” 32 Then they spoke the word of the Lord to him and to all who were in his house.

?
What Must We Understand and Believe About Jesus?

John 3: 18-19 -
He is the only name under heaven by which we can be saved John 14:6 “Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. He is “The Way, The Truth, and The Life. - - John Chap.14: 5 Thomas said to Him, “Lord, we do not know where You are going, and how can we know the way?” 6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. Acts 4:12 -12, No Other Way: Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

What about those who do not believe he is “The WAY?”
17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

The Question everyone must answer
; “Who do YOU say that I (Jesus) am?

John 1:2 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: 13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

The Church (Ekklesia) Each Believer is Called: A supernatural calling:
John 6:
44 “No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him; and I will raise him up at the last day.”

Called by the Father: (If we have been born of the Spirit are the called of God)
Romans 8: 29 For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren. 30 Moreover whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified.

The Called become believers and sons of God:
Acts 13: 44 (Paul and Barnabus minister at Antioch in Pisidia)
On the next Sabbath almost the whole city came together to hear the word of God. 45 But when the Jews saw the multitudes, they were filled with envy; and contradicting and blaspheming, they opposed the things spoken by Paul. 46 Then Paul and Barnabas grew bold and said, “It was necessary that the word of God should be spoken to you first; but since you reject it, and judge yourselves unworthy of everlasting life, behold, we turn to the Gentiles. 47 For so the Lord has commanded us:
I have set you as a light to the Gentiles, That you should be for salvation to the ends of the earth.” 48 Now when the Gentiles heard this, they were glad and glorified the word of the Lord.* And as many as had been appointed to eternal life believed. *Those who God calls are foreknown. He supplies the “measure of faith” prepares their hearts to believe.

SALVATION BY THE POWER OF GOD -

ROMANS 1:16
For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek.
1 CORINTHIANS 1:18 Christ (is) the Power and Wisdom of God. For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.

What are we SAVED FROM? What are we called OUT OF?

Obviously the first matter is that we are delivered from the judgment of unbelievers. Who pay the eternal price of separation from God, HELL.

We who are called are Delivered from Wrath to Come and the control of the Evil One.

1 Thes. 1:10 - “
9 - - and how you turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God, 10 and to wait for His Son from heaven, whom He raised from the dead, even Jesus who delivers us from the wrath to come.”
John 17:16
They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world.

The Spirit of Truth help to keep us from the control of the “god of this world.”
John 15:19: If you were of the world, the world would love its own. Yet because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.
John 17:6:
I have manifested Your name to the men whom You have given Me out of the world. They were Yours, You gave them to Me, and they have kept Your word.

WHAT IS THE MESSAGE OF THE CROSS? This directs us to the essential Gospel message.

What is the gospel? What is not the Gospel? The cross, the shed blood of Jesus, and the resurrection was for a long while a standard message among the evangelical churches. That message is being replaced by another gospel of seeker sensitive and feel good religion.

Paul warns us not to turn from the message of the cross.

1 Corinthians 1:18 “ - - For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.”

Jude admonishes us to: Jude: v. 3 “ I found it necessary to write to you exhorting you to contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints.

What distinguishes the validity of the Gospel, the beliefs of a Christian, the expression and manner of presenting the gospel?
2 Corinthians 11:3 and 4 explains that we must have the - - the Right Jesus - - the Right Gospel - and the right Spirit.
4 For if he who comes preaches another Jesus whom we have not preached, or if you receive a different spirit which you have not received, or a different gospel which you have not accepted you may well put up with it!
