SMALL TOWN CONCERNS about Methamphetamine

A few people from town recently attended a talk about Methamphetamine at the Breck. High School. The talk was very informative and very scary. Living in a small town you think you are safe from what we think of as a "big city" problem. What we learned is that this is actually a rural, small town problem. You may ask yourself "what can we do?"

Well the information we received says that …

Community members need to be aware that a problem exists.

Be willing to do something about it.

Talk to local retailers about reporting meth material purchases.

Watch for meth waste on roadsides, in dumpsters, in garbage piles and pits.

Rent property wisely

Insist on local cleanup and protection of children

Talk to those who make and keep the law.

Groups involved with cleanup around the area, up and down the highways, need to be aware of what they are picking up. There could be potentially lethal meth paraphernalia along the sides of the road.
