FAIRMOUNT RESIDENT
NEWS
There was a town
meeting today at 9 am at the Community center.
We had a great turn out of very concerned and enthusiastic people. We want to work toward helping our community
grow and improve with age. We are
looking at areas we can change and areas of development that we can all affect
and help to make happen. There will be
another meeting on March 6th at 9 am at the community center. Please come and join us in making this town
stay alive for all of us. (Bring only
the positive attitude we want to succeed).
A BIG
CONGRATULATIONS to the Robotics team from Fairmount School. They came in first in the competition in
Brookings today!!!!!
United States Postal Service Examination Schedule for 2004
Examinations for the Rural Carrier 460 will be scheduled for applications in 2004. The Dakotas District is comprised of Post Offices, which are located in North Dakota, South Dakota, and northwestern Minnesota.
Questions and Answers regarding the RCA position and exam:
Rural carrier associates are non-career employees who serve on a rural route. They sort, deliver, and collect all classes of mail up to 70 pounds on a rural route using a vehicle. RCA’s are substitutes for the regular Rural Carrier. RCA’s provide customers on the route with a variety of services, including selling stamp supplies and money orders. They generally provide and maintain their own vehicle and are given an equipment maintenance allowance. Applicants must have a valid state driver’s license, a safe driving record, and at least two years of documented driving experience.
An RCA is paid $15.22 per hour.
All applicants are required to take a multiple-choice examination (Test
460.) The examination and completion of forms take approximately 2 ¼ hours. Note: When applicants register for an exam, they
will be sent a scheduling package that includes the exam date, time, location,
and materials to prepare for the exam.
As vacancies occur in the Rural Carrier craft, qualified RCA’s are selected to fill these positions by seniority within their office.
There is no cost to the applicant.
The Postal Service
provides reasonable accommodation to qualified individuals with
disabilities. Instructions for
requesting reasonable accommodations are provided in the scheduling package
sent to each applicant who applies to take the examination. The decision on granting reasonable
accommodations will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
All applicants must
pre-register by calling the toll-free number or by registering on the
internet. No applicants will be allowed
to test on a walk-in basis.
If you have
questions regarding the examination process, please contact your local
postmaster or one of the following HR Specialists.

QUOTE FOR THE DAY
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort. ~Herm Albright, quoted in Reader's Digest, June 1995
